Sustainability Features of this Site include:
  • The house has stood the test of time and by carefully and lovingly restoring it, it can last even longer.
  • Pervious pavers throughout the landscaping will prevent stormwater run off and allow for a sturdy waking surface without sacrificing infiltration ability. The pavers gain their permeability via the spacing between and the clean gravel around and below them.
  • Solar panels have been utilized for the hot water for the rear unit and back up for the main house.
  • Reclaimed barn wood has been brought in and used whenever possible. It is in the new cottage flooring.
  • A rain garden will be built in the north yard to further increase stormwater infiltration.
